’70s dress: Etsy
Shoes: Swedish Hasbeens

We’re back from Tennessee and I think that maybe I was having too much fun to post every day, but we did take photos of our adventures.  I’ll do up posts on those later this week!  For now here’s a broad, general weekend in Tennessee post with the most Tennessee dress I could track down.  I actually found this on Etsy a few weeks back.  It was floor length and super ’70s, and I thought it was beautiful and ugly at the same time but something about it really appealed to me.  It made me think of ’70s Robert Altman films and old country western stars, and when I imagined wearing it in Tennessee for the holiday I had to get it.  Now that it’s shortened it’s one of my favorite dresses!  It’s the most comfortable and romantic thing in the world to wear.  Plus when I was standing in my parents’ driveway a butterfly landed on my hand and I swear it’s because of this dress.

The title of this blog post is kind of misleading since we only spent the first part of the day in Tennessee.  My mom made french toast and coffee, and we talked about the historic sites in Tennessee we want to visit while my dad and Drew watched the Tour de France on TV.  Then Drew and I drove out to the country to take some blog photos that I think are really an homage to Lauren and Neil’s wonderful Tennessee hay bale photos.

After that we drove back to Atlanta and had a semi-festive (but perfect) 4th of July evening watching fireworks off in the distance from the roof of La Fonda.  And now I miss my family!

That dress is like a china plate come to clothing form! It’s so very pretty and dreamy and with your long tumbling dark hair it’s perfect. It’s so funny– when I first started reading your blog, your hair was quite short and I remembered you were bemoaning your lack of long hair. And now look at you! Lovely. :)

You had me at the first picture! It is so beautiful!

I definitely thought of Lauren’s post when I saw it. It may be the same location but you sisters were able to create very different moods. Lauren’s was more dramatic while yours is very fresh and sunny (in a non-cheesy way).

The butterfly story was cool. That dress must be as magical as it looks! The sleeves, color and print are amazing.

Glad you had a good vacation, Rhiannon!

You look so so so beautiful in 70′s flutter sleeve dresses! I can’t believe this was shortened because it looks perfect and like it was always meant to be short. You’re also giving me inspiration for a long 70′s Gunne Sax dress that I should probably shorten if I ever want to wear it (have had it since I was 18!) It’s wonderful that you had such a nice weekend. It’s beautiful to be with family, and yours seems so lovely. XO

I apologize for the possible off-topic. Guys, could you inform me which web hosting company you are using right now I have a problem because my current web hosting company hostrator.com is kicking me off. They say that our website is using too many server resources. But our website only gets 300 visitors per day.. Anyway, what would be your recommendations? Are you happy with your web hosting providers? I am checking LCN at the moment, but is it real that they can provide unlimited disk space? I have contacted them and they say something like “1000GB disk drive costs only $30 per month, so if some day we will start running out of disk space we will simply add a new 2000GB drive so can continue uploading..”. What do you think about it? Any ideas and web hosting company name suggestions are much appreciated.
