We’ve been staying at Drew’s parents’ house on the North Carolina coast for the last few days, and today we all went over to Myrtle Beach. I’d never been there before–I heard great/funny things about it, and after yesterday’s stop at South of the Border I guess I was in the mood for funny southern tourist attractions. There were lots of funny things in Myrtle Beach (airbrushed t-shirt shops and an ancient and amazing gift shop called the Gay Dolphin!) but there were nice things too. We ate lunch at this little seafood place that’s been there since the ’60s, walked around the boardwalk, and played skee-ball, which might be the first halfway athletic game that I’m not absolutely awful at (not that I was good). It was lots of fun.
Tomorrow we’re getting up early to go to Charleston for the cruise! I don’t think I’ll have any internet access for the week so it will be awfully quiet around here, but as always I promise to take lots of outfit pictures and touristy pictures and even some sister pictures.

Does Drew have a Domke bag?
I love the first photo! Beautiful!
Such a beautiful light, it must have been a wonderful day!
Hehe, this looks like such a silly fun day. Hope you enjoy the cruise
Penny Dreadful Vintage
oh this is glorious, the lighting and color involved in these photographs are breathtaking.
i really loooove the big white shark. if i could, i would have a room stuffed with funny things like that. once i’ve seen a huge huge croissant, the idea came to my head but is still waiting for its release.
beautiful photographs!

Wow! this place looks so cute! I LOVED South Of The Border (but totally forgot to put pictures in it on my blog) It is so tacky! I adore your outfit and these photos are incredibly lovely.
Can’t wait for your return!

Louder Than Silence
What fun pictures! They really capture the spirit of the place! And you look so pretty as usual!
I haven’t been to Myrtle Beach in years, what fun! I’m bringing my fiance to Charleston for the first time next week! It’ll be fun to see how a native north-westerner does with my huge, southern family. If you find any good places to shop in Charleston, I’d love to hear about it!
How did you dye your shoes black? How did you prevent the wood from staining?
I love how simple your blog design is. It’s beautiful. It really focuses on your pretty pictures!
Shy!
Awwww Myrtle Beach and South of the Border! You’re making me miss the NC coast. <3
Jeremy and I stop at South of the Border anytime we're leaving NC and going by that way! It's too hilarious not to go. For two of our road trips to New Orleans we stopped and got little mascots.. a flamingo back-scratcher that we hung from the rear-view mirror, and a little Pedro necklace. Hah!
Have fun on the cruise!
Oh I love Myrtle Beach! I used to go there all the time. Lately I’ve been going to Topsail though, it’s a bit closer to me, and more intimate.
oh I love these photos. lovely! Have a fun time one your cruise!
These are really beautiful pictures; the light is incredible! They look like vintage or film photos.
I’m also curious how you dyed your shoes!!
That’d be such a great idea for all my iffy-hued thrift store boots.
I have always wanted to go there! I love seeing these photos..and just imagining that I am there too! You look gorgeous girl and I love love love those madewell shoes. I need them!
Woops modcloth shoes* I need those madewell ones you have too though!! x

this pics make me dream
Beaches during the fall are my idea of perfection. There’s little to no crowds, I can wear cuddly and cosy things, and it’s not burning hot! You look lovely in all these photographs.
ahh those pictures are something else. The photography on this blog is really quite magical, ethereal! I love your outfits too. the loveliest style.
xx
Ever since I saw Shag for the first time, I’ve wanted to go to Myrtle Beach, but I know it’ll be nothing like what the movie portrays. I guess the only reason I want to go is to be surrounded by girls and guys in 60′s attire, listen to 60′s music, and shag at the pavilion with Chip =)
Photographs are so amazingly swoon worthy!
Drew takes the most beautiful photographs! I love this photo set. It’s so ethereal.
aw! my grandparents vacation at myrtle beach every year. ive never heard it mentioned in another context!

love ur pics and style. wish you the best!xx
Gorgeous first photo! Is Drew a professional photographer? If not, he’s fooled me:) Great idea about dying your shoes. You should do a mini tutorial on dying shoes.
i’ve always wanted to visit there too. Its so pretty.
These pictures are very pretty!
Love your blog. Your photos are amazing!

what dye did you use to colour the shoes??
love the pictures!!!
i just love looking at your website so cute
“Myrtle Beach” always makes me think of The Great Gatsby. I love the 1974 movie version so much, I’m dreading this new one. Based on the director, it seems like it’s going to be glitzy and garish, and basically undermine the whole point of the story. The soundtrack was so perfect too! (I tracked it down on vinyl.)
Oh darn, Florida wasn’t on my travel wish list at all, but now I want a photograph next to that Southernmost Point thing. Photoshop, maybe? (Kidding)
I think I need to stop being in love with your blog. I adore every part of this outfit!
