New Year’s Dream Outfits

1. Wren Leith Lace Dress . . . . . . . . . . 2. Topshop Sheer Tights . . . . . . . . . . 3. Digby & Iona necklace . . . . . . . . . . 4. Topshop Block Heel Shoes.

For the past few months I’ve been into more casual outfits than usual.  I’ve been living in simple sweater/skirt outfits, dresses with straight shapes, and heels that are not-too-high.  But something about the holidays is throwing all that out the window, and once again I’m getting drawn towards impractically tall shoes and dresses with flashy details like sequins.  At the Atlanta Madewell store there’s a little silver dress made entirely of sequins, and even though I usually make fun of all the sequin-splashed shirts and things in J. Crew I couldn’t help but love this dress.  (I like it better than the lots more expensive Phillip Lim dress here but couldn’t find it online to show)  I know I can thank New Year’s for that.  Once the holidays are over I’ll probably go back to simple, but for now here are the sort of things I’d be wearing on Friday if I didn’t already have an outfit planned.  And if I were rich . . . .

1. Built by Wendy Velveteen Party Dress . . . . . . . . . . 2. Opening Ceremony par Robert Clergerie Heels . . . . . . . . 3. Topshop Moon Tights . . . . . . . . . . 4. Steven Alan Fall Doctor Satchel.

1.  Kate Moss for Topshop Velvet Playsuit . . . . . . . . 2.  Gap black tights . . . . . . . . . 3. Madewell Potion Charm Necklace . . . . . . 4. Rachel Comey Dekalb Clogs.

1. 3.1 Phillip Lim Sequin Shift Dress. . . . . . . . . . . 2. Topshop Rib Tights . . . . . . . . 3. Rachel Comey Bernard Clog Boots.

(thanks for the collages, Drew!)

Me too! We never do much of anything for New Year’s .. . . I always end up overdressed but it’s so fun anyway.

I saw the purple OC shoes at the store, oh man. Even the sale price is so far out of my price range, but they’re gorgeous to look at.

i’ve been living in fluffy sweaters and cardigans recently – i think it’s got something to do with the snow outside and needing to snuggle up! i’m definitely going for something less comfy for new years though – i just can’t resist a high heel! and that wren dress is just perfect. xo

Yeah, I’ve been wearing lots of sweaters when it gets cold. Mostly lately I don’t get too into ruffles and details and the frilly stuff I used to like. New Year’s is different though
