I was trying to do all holiday-themed posts this week, but then I got sent Rachel Antonoff’s spring 2011 lookbook, and it’s just too cute not to post right away. So like usual I’ll try to rationalize posting another spring collection in the dead of winter and say that the little white dress and sailor dresses would look winter-y and good with cardigans thrown over and tights worn underneath, or that the navy blue pleated dress would make a pretty great dress for New Year’s.  It’s true!  But mostly this lookbook makes me think of spring, of being a kid in the ’80s and a teenager in the ’90s, wearing cotton dresses and going to book fairs, playing with kittens (we had one named Honey.  It used to run from across the room and dig its claws into my legs, and I haven’t been a cat person since), piano lessons, and summer days without any plans in the world.  In the ’80s I think I wore little gingham blouses and white dresses, but I don’t know if they were half as cute as these ones.

Love the collection. The red dress reminds me of one that my mom made for me for Christmas.

Ah! I was scanning old photos and looking at Rachel Antonoff’s lookbook at the same time and thinking of how lovely her Spring 11 collection is and how lovely it would be to be able to afford these dresses and a couple of saddle shoes from her Bass collaboration!

I know! I wonder how much the bass shoes will go for . . . I’m always looking for Rachel Antonoff dresses on sale. Also I bet they have sample sales–maybe one will just happen to take place when you’re in New York!

the models look far too skeletal in these pictures, but I’m in love with that kitten (how small!), so cute!

oooh I love love love Rachel Antonoff! I’m still trying to figure out what to do about my one Rachel Antonoff dress (which, naturally, is my favorite dress in the world!) that’s too big for me now. (In fact, if you know a good, reasonably priced seamstress in Atlanta, I’d appreciate the recommendation! My sewing skills aren’t up to par.)

Thanks for posting this lookbook! Just what I need, something more to lust over… ;)
