So I know it’s only January, and that no matter how many spring collections or warm weather inspiration pictures I post it won’t really be spring for a while now.  I know that in a lot of places it’s still snowing (my dad got stranded in Ireland for a day or two this week because the Newark airport was shut down due to snow) and that only a few weeks ago here we were all iced inside our homes in a freak Atlanta snowstorm.  But all of that was hard to remember this weekend when the sun was out and the temperature might have hit 70.  It was good.  Drew’s friend was in town from Vermont so he hung out with him and I spent lots of time with Jamie yesterday, taking some photos that we’ll show you later.  Last night we went to Antico and listened to David Bowie records and thought about going to the Clermont, but stayed in and play around with funny iPhone apps instead.

Today was even warmer.  It was so nice out that I ditched the tights and tried out a warm weather outfit that’s sort of inspired by all those Australian and New Zealand collections I keep posting.  After dropping Drew’s friend off at the airport Drew and I went back out to Serenbe to walk around in a good quiet southern farm setting, and it was peaceful and beautiful.  Other things I did this weekend: baked an apple pie (it was ok), made some cinnamon rolls from scratch (they turned out better), ran outside without having to wear a jacket and gloves, got a good start on a book about southern literature history (and found that I have a lot of authors to catch up on), talked a little about future projects with Jamie, and ate an amazing all-vegetable meal cooked by Drew.  Sorry for all the warm weather bragging if you’re stuck in the snow somewhere up north.  If it makes you feel any better it’s going to get cooler and rain here just about all week and soon enough the tights and winter coats will be back out.  But I’ll try not to think about that until tomorrow.

These pictures have me lusting for bare legs and fresh garden veggies. I really like the cropped sweater. I don’t know if it would work for me, but it looks great on you.

You look just gorgeous Rhiannon. Jamie’s pictures are amazing, I saw his portfolio and can’t wait to see his photographs with you!
We had a bit of spring here in Italy too and I really enjoyed walking around in my town with a light dress and no coat on :) But then it snowed yesterday and we got rain today, I guess we’ll have to wait a little bit more for warm sunshine!
    Have a great week,
    Ale

I love the outfit! And wasn’t the weather amazing? That “not thinking about it until tomorrow” is appropriately quite Scarlett O’Hara of you hehe. And I don’t blame you!

I’m lusting for spring as well; winter is so depressing without Christmas! I already posted a spring wishlist, sigh. Too bad we’re about to get twenty centimetres of snow.

I guess I have to live vicariously through these pictures! Lovely skirt, by the way.

I love your outfit, Rhiannon–it looks perfect for the weekend. I especially like that cropped sweater. I keep seeing those in the thrift stores and go back and forth about them; on one hand I adore how they look on stylish gals like yourself, but I don’t know how the boxy cut would look on me… Guess I should try! ;)

You are able to go bare-legged in JANUARY?? I am so jealous. Your outfit is so spring-y, like something I would want to wear in May! I like the cropped sweater.

You finally got the shoes! I’ve been lusting after those forever too. Swedish Hasbeens are the best! It was warm enough a few weeks ago for me to bust out my peep-toe platforms and they looked so bright and new when I pulled them out of the box. And I wore them to death last summer!

Your hair is getting very long and luscious. I’m jealous!

That was such a wonderful weekend – but it left me so ready for Spring & now it’s so cold here again!
Thanks for sharing your outing to Serenbe. I’d never heard of it before but I’m going to see if any friends want to drive up there now (but only if we have another glorious weekend.)
