Here is the thing that’s been on my wishlist for the past three summers. It’s not that I haven’t been able to find any; Etsy and Ebay have what seems like a ton of old white Edwardian dresses at all times, but usually they are too tiny-waisted (if you don’t wear a corset) or too expensive. Especially if you are meaning to hack the dress into a mini as soon as you get it. That’s what I wanted to do last year, but now I’m liking the look of the dresses long more and more, especially when they’re worn with modern shoes or menswear-ish shoes. It just seems like a good thing to wear on a hot summer day.

I’ve been dying to get my hands on a sheer Edwardian day dress for ages. They do seem like they’d be perfect for those unbearably hot, languid southern summer days… Now if only I could find one that doesn’t have a 23″ waist… haha!

I love the first one! So pretty.
The first dress looks like a great Wedding Dress!
stunning dresses! And the last picture is so beautiful.
yes. so pretty.
these are absolutely beautiful.
Lovely! Looks like you’re thinking about summer again Rhiannon
Agreed! They never fit & are too expensive for me too. I’ve considered trying to make something myself, but that’s probably not going to happen. HA!
I couldn’t agree more. I have my eye set out looking for some long-ish old-fashioned dresses as well…
so magical!
These are so pretty! They remind me of Winnie Foster from Tuck Everlasting haha
oh, love love.

Edwardian dresses (and blouses) are so beautiful! Most of the one’s I’ve found have been too delicate to wear, the lawn just get’s so fragile over time.
i feel ya on this whole thing–i think floaty Edwardian dresses are the source of my addiction to cream or ivory colored dresses of every style. seriously. i’ve had to put myself on restriction!
There are some amazing old net curtains out there, however…repurposing time! ~ Jess
