Inspiration: Seaside Vacations

I saw these lookbook photos for the shoe brand New Kid on the Urban Outfitters blog and really fell in love with them.  I’m especially into the ’60s vacation snapshot feel of them, and the breezy summer outfits make me want to go on a trip to some seaside town right away . . .

Ooh la la! I love these outfits, especially that crepe crop top! Crepe is one of my favorite fabrics, and I feel like it’s all too often ignored in new styles.

Who can resist this kind of breezy, provincial, seaside style? French stripes and mahogany leather never go out of style.

I never really understood the love for nautical prints until I moved to the seaside. Now I can’t wait to fill my wardrobe with reds, whites, and blues. Summer by the sea, here I come!

    lovely photo up top.
I’ve always wanted to go for a weekend away where you pick an era and stick to it – wear only vintage clothes, stay in a cute old B&B, have old fashioned picnics, stay away from tv & internet etc. and of course take a roll of film for photos!

This photoshoot is just divine! It makes me long to lazy days at the seaside. I wish I wasn’t here in Australia where Autumn is beginning to make itself felt and I have months of longing until I can visit the sea in the sunshine.
    Dreaming of summer sun.

How fun, I’d love to wear any of the outfit combinations pictured on trips to Wisconsin this summer. Coincidentally I did a post yesterday about vintage photos of the seashore & camping trips. http://thriftaholic.blogspot.com/2011/04/vernacular-photo-tuesday-travel-leisure.html
