Another Sunday, another funny outfit post with me in a sling.  Since I’m not really up to daytrips or anything big lately we’ve been just sticking around town.  Honestly I’ve mostly been sticking around the house.  My arm is healing pretty well and doesn’t hurt so much anymore but it has messed up my body a bit, and sometimes I feel sick or dizzy or tired, so it’s safest just to stay indoors.  The only places I went to this weekend were Borders last night with Drew and Jamie and the Kudzu Antiques Market today with Drew.  We were on our way to the farmer’s market and made a stop at Kudzu, which was fun even if I didn’t find anything.  But when I was there I started getting that post-surgery sick feeling again, so I just stayed in the car when Drew went to the farmer’s market.  It’s a great place, but a hectic one.  I just stayed in the car and talked to my dad on the phone. (Happy Father’s Day!)

I can’t remember if I mentioned it, but I did make it to thrift stores this last week.  Jamie and I went to some of my favorite ones around here and actually managed to find a bunch of things for future Silent Sundays shoots.  Jamie found the skirt that I’m wearing in these photos–it’s from the ’90s, and is the blue corduroy version of the suede one that Hannah wore, so her outfit inspired me to give this one a try.  Only now I don’t really want to sell it.

Well I hate to say it, but I’m glad the weekend’s over.  Weekends are the worst when you’re stuck inside recovering from something, because they’re the times you feel like you’re missing out on the most.  It’s June, and sometimes it gets me down to think of all the fun things I’m missing–trips and cookouts and swimming.  Weekdays are better because I can get some work done and feel halfway productive.  Anyhow Jamie and I are planning a Silent Sundays-related trip that will be coming up soon, so there is something to look forward to.  And tomorrow I go see the doctor again, so I’m crossing my fingers this cast will come off sooner rather than later.

  7. Aww, your poor arm! It sucks you can’t go swimming and all that. But the good news is that you still look good, even in a sling.

I’m glad to see that your getting out of the house, but I’m very sorry your still having difficulties. sometimes those last bits of sickness are the worst because you just want it to be over and it almost is. But do not despair, very soon you’ll be better. Have you seen the new Woody Allen movie, it was very charming and hopeful, I think you would enjoy it.

Rhiannon!!!!!! It’s about time I comment on here! Despite my lack of internet presence throughout the school year/time to comment I can assure you I’ve been reading your blog every day! I’m finally getting back into the groove of internet things, and this post really is the greatest mainly because of the amazing/scary taxidermy photo (is it bad I sort of want it?), the last photo of you with the face sign, the fact that you’re out thrifting with one arm, and the inclusion of the sling in the outfit details. Haha. You really are the best!! I owe you a big ol’ e-mail and I promise it’s coming your way soon, but I want to make sure I say here that I hope you feel better and I’m sorry you have to go through this!!! I don’t know if you’ve seen it already or are on board with it, but my best suggestion for immobile sick days at home is an X-Files marathon!!!! Also, I want to say a huge congrats on Silent Sundays!!!!! I was so, so excited and proud (is that weird?) when I saw it! It looks incredible! Yer makin’ it to the big time, lady! Alright, e-mail coming, I promise! In the meantime, you look as cute as can be! xx
