Mississippi Bound

So one reason why I’ve been so quiet lately is that Jamie and I have been planning a big Silent Sundays vintage hunting trip/shoot, and we’ve been getting stuff ready for it.  I’ve also been a little bit sick, and also we’ve had some things happen that I won’t get into here.  It was a good/bad weekend.  I did get to see my sister Ashley and her husband Danny and my nephew and niece really quickly on Saturday, so that was definitely a highlight.  Also today Drew took me to the doctor and I got the staples taken out of my arm, and honestly those things poking into my skin was hurting more than anything else, so there’s a relief.

Right now I’m excited to leave tomorrow for our trip.  Jamie and I are hitting up a ton of thrift/antique stores in 4 different states, two of them which will be completely new to me.  We’ll be staying with her parents on the Mississippi coast and might even go to New Orleans for a quick little trip.  It’s supposed to rain all week but we’ve got our fingers crossed it will clear up a tiny bit on Thursday for a shoot we have planned with a model I’m extra excited to work with.

It will definitely be a whirlwind trip, but hopefully we’ll get the chance to take a bunch of pictures along the way!

PS: We’re in Mississippi now!  I’m updating the Silent Sundays blog each day with some photos from our trip, but I’m sure I’ll be writing about it here too.

I just found your blog today and I’m quite awed by your lovely style. Also, I’m very jealous of your little trip… the opportunities for thrifting and picture taking sound endless!

Whatever you do that allows you to go all around the south and surrounding states to shop for vintage seems like the most perfect, ideal job.
I’m also glad you’re a fan of Eggie. The way he captures the South makes me want to go there and traverse the fields in a flowy cotton dress.
