A different kind of weekend post

I’ve wanted to write about Drew and his paintings for a long time, and with his gallery show now done I figured it’d be as good a time as any. He’s been painting for years, but over the last year or so has gotten into collage-style wood paintings that I love more than anything he’s made.  I love the colors of them and the shapes, as well as the idea of hanging them up in the house we want to build one day.

All photos, paintings by Drew Tyndell.

I’m with Sheva, kinda speechless. It’s so different from what you’ve shown us, but I have to say I’m equally impressed. He should try for a show here in Los Angeles, I bet his work would be a huge hit!

These are great. Makes me wish I was still in atlanta so i could see the mural in person. is the goat farm in atlanta proper? I don’t remember it.

Beautiful and unique. Such a nice contrast of the cubic shapes and the warmth of the wood.

Oh it’s wonderful work. I was hoping you would post some images of it. Although they are not the same, the work makes me think of the maps Peter Greenaway made and uses in his short film “A walk through H” which is super weird and wonderful. Kudos to Drew for such beautiful work and for making a public place for it.
