Pretend Outfits: Things I want to Do In March

1. Cacharel Sleeveless Satin Dress . . . . . . . . 2. Ariana Braided Sandal . . . . . . . . . . 3. Iacoli & Mcallister Necklace.

Go on some kind of day trip: I got a book full of Atlanta area day trip ideas and now I just have to wait for a weekend warm (and not rainy) enough and pick out a place.  We haven’t checked out too many places south of the city, and I would like to see Columbus again and venture to Andersonville maybe.

1. Steven Alan Danielle Dress . . . . . . . . 2. Madewell Pickup Sticks Necklace . . . . . . . . . . . 3. Madewell Hole Punch Sandal.

See The Artist: I was afraid to see this movie just because I love silent films so much and I don’t want to be let down, but just about everyone I know seems to have seen it and fallen in love with it, so why not.  I’m probably too picky, but I’m just afraid it will be like another version of A Star is Born, with a few Busby Berkeley-esque dance numbers and the dog from The Thin Man movies thrown in for laughs.  But I’m probably just too cynical and I bet I’ll love it too.

1. Madewell Silk Singalong Top . . . . . . . 2. Something Else Burnt Orange Skirt . . . . . . . . . . . 3. Madewell High Road Sandal.

Nashville: Because I love going to see my family in Tennessee, and there’s still so much in Nashville that we always mean to see but haven’t yet: Third Man Records, Imogene and Willie, The Carter House . . . Plus Tennessee’s just so beautiful and relaxing.  And I miss my family.

1. Secret Squirrel Palette Dress . . . . . . . . . 2. Karen Walker Number One Sunglasses . . . . . . . . . . . 3. Isabel Marant Lara Ballet Flat. Collages by Drew.

Check out the flea market again: We want to try to brave Scott’s again because Drew is on the hunt for an old woven floor rug for our living room, and I just want to go explore.  I like the outside, junkier part of the flea market best; there is a barn full of doors and window frames and all kinds of things salvaged from old houses, and it’s really fascinating just to look at.

These outfits are so lovely! My family might be visiting New York this summer, which is a pretty big trip since we live in England. Already I’m planning outfits–for breakfast out, and the flea market in Brooklyn, and visiting MoMA. It’s a little bit insane, I guess! But so fun to think about the way you dress affects the way you feel.

I just wanted to tell you that it’s pretty possible that you’ll be dissapointed with The Artist just as I am. There are few funny scenes and ideas but there’s no power in it. The dog is more than good but it’s just a copy of Asta…

Be sure to hit up Providence Canyon when you go to Columbus! If it’s warm enough you can walk through the streams at the base of the canyon barefoot. But beware, lots of Georgia Red Clay ;-)

I just adore your pretend outfit posts! I have also been convinced to go see The Artist, so I’ll let you know how it is :) as a fellow silent film fan, I’m really hoping it will be as good as people say it is.

i especially love the first cacharel dress. i almost did an imaginary closet post with that in mind too.

i know how you feel about missing family. i’m missing mine terribly right now too…
can’t wait to see you visiting all the places that you talk about. it is always nice to travel through someone else’s eyes.

This may seem like a sort of stupid question, but I am wondering what you would wear under the little sheer blouse at the end? I have a sheer blouse that’s got a paisley pattern and I feel tempted to wear it with just a black bra, but wonder if that’s too punk/tacky etc. Let me know what you think if you have a minute. Have fun on your trips. I recommend Tree of Life if you want to see a really strange and beautiful but sort of disturbing film. Anyway, Terrence Malik can do no wrong in my opinion.
