Here are some more photos from our trip to Tennessee a few weeks ago, when we went the Cheekwood Botanical Garden with my family.  We went there so my nephew and niece could have fun at a temporary treehouse exhibit, but I was also excited about checking the place out and getting some photos for The Southerly.  Drew took a ton of pictures; you can see a lot more and read a bunch of backstory about the actual ’30s mansion right now in our latest Southerly post.

We did manage to take a few tourist photos for this blog.  I’ve been lazy about doing weekend/outfit posts lately, especially the weekends we spend around Atlanta.  I’ve been pretty boring: just resting a lot, reading a lot, running some, writing some, cooking some.  Pretty standard old married person weekends I would have made fun of when I was 25, but now?  I like it.  It’s reassuring.  I’m reading Shelby Foote’s Civil War books (I’m only on book one of three massive volumes; it might just take me years to finish them all) and trying to catch up on all the southern literature I didn’t pay attention to in college.  So far Peter Taylor’s short stories are a big favorite.

I’ve also been putting together outfits for a shoot I’m styling for Jamie this weekend.  She just got a new studio by the railroad tracks in an old factory building-turned-work space that I used to blog pose at (ha ha), so we’re going to do our first fashion shoot in the new place.

I really enjoy your everyday life “boring” activities and oufit and food posts.
I´ve just turned 30 and now I do prefer the kind of activities you mentioned and spending some quality time with the ones I love the most.
Also I noticed 2 annoying vertical wrinkles on my forehead. :)
